The concept of Meritage would seem a simple equation: blending Cabernet and Merlot into balanced, age-worthy wine. Tasting trials show this notion to be a dangerous oversimplification of a process that must not only fuse, but also integrate a complex matrix of flavours and textures.
To create a synergistic wine that embodies the strengths of each component while also bringing something new and exciting to the table is no small task; a true Meritage is much greater than the sum of its parts.
