    What A Steal!

    Estate Whites

    2006 Laura White
    Appellation: VQA Niagara Peninsula
Varietal Composition: 38% Sauvignon Blanc, 27% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Gris, 7% Viognier, 5% Muscat, 5% Riesling
Bottled: Bottled September 2007. 650 cases
Drinkability: Drink or Hold [as of August 2008]

Laura’s Blend is our flagship proprietary wine. Assemblage of both barrel and stainless steel ferments has created an enticing wine with balanced structure and great length. Aromas of jasmine, lavender, papaya and spiced pear leave an elegant and exotic first impression. The rich and supple palate shows complex layers of tropical fruit, lemon drop, and subtle wood spice, given further depth by a seam of refreshing citrus acidity. Best from 2008-2010.

    87 Pts. — 2006 Laura White

David Lawrason, Lawrason On Wine, Nov. 20th 2007

This joins the wave of multi-varietal blends sweeping Niagara and the New World. Combines sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot gris, viognier, muscat and riesling—partially aged in older barrels for a touch of spice. Quite intense floral, jasmine and clove nose with vague yellow pear-plum fruit. Medium weight; viscous; spicy palate with some lemon-grapefruit on the finish. Very good length.

    “a crazy blend” — 2006 Laura White

Rick VanSickle, Toronto Sun, Dec. 29th,2007

…a crazy blend of, well, pretty much everything. It ends up as a citrusy, tropical-laden white with a touch of spice. I imagine it with grilled fish.
