    Jambalaya

We had a lot of compliments on last month’s recipe, so we thought we should dig up another comfort food classic, this one comes from a member of the Creekside crew who says it’s his favourite version of the Cajun Classic.

This lively summer dish is perfect as a dinner or appetizer.

Seared Sea Bass with Fresh Herbs

Spring means herbs, and this quick and easy recipe is a perfect way to launch into Spring. Be sure to use good quality Bass and quality wine (we can recommend the winery).

    4.0 Stars — 2007 Sauvignon Blanc

Michael Pinkus, Ontario Wine Review Newsletter, June 2009

There seems to be two main kinds of Sauvignon Blanc; there’s the Kiwi style with big grapefruit and gooseberry notes – the kind that smacks you in the face with all its citrus aromatics … the other, is a softer Sauvignon Blanc with subtler, pretty aromatics of peaches and floral notes with only a hint of citrus. This Creekside version falls into the second category, with its fresh and fruity nose and taste, plenty of peach and a wonderful aftertaste. Great summer sipper at a bargain price.

    4.0 Stars — 2007 Sauvignon Blanc

Christopher Waters, Waters & Wine, April 18th 2009.

Creekside has a knack for crafting terrific Sauvignon Blanc, which is evident in this bright and appealing example as well as the rich, concentrated and bold Reserve bottling that will be released at the winery later this summer. The bargain bottle delivers good intensity of flavour and character but in an easy-to-appreciate package. This dry, refreshing white is tailor-made for warm weather enjoyment.

    89 Pts. — 2007 Sauvignon Blanc

David Lawrason, Toronto Life, July 2008

Creekside’s sauvignon has shone since its first batch in 1998. Has ripe star fruit and gooseberry, yet typical sauvignon nettle greenness and grapefruit. Mid-weight, fleshy and lively, even delicate, with fresh herbs on the palate. New Zealand sauvignon has nothing on this example.
