“Lengthy finish” — 2007 SLH Pinot Gris
Evan Saviolidis, Wine Access Magazine, February 2009
A medium gold colour with reflections of peach, this dessert wine serves up spice, honey, orange blossom, peach jam and marmalade. It is mid weight with good depth, a lengthy finish and just a touch bitterness. Drink now with a white chocolate cheesecake or a fresh fruit cocktail macerated in cinnamon scented simple syrup.
“Quite classy” — 2007 SLH Pinot Gris
David Lawrason, Winery to Home, Nov. 2008
Quite classy, bright and tasty Pinot Gris with interesting peach, lemon, bread pudding and marmalade aromas. It’s mid-weight and medium sweet, with slightly dry finish. Very good length. Not as sweet as Icewine so don’t match it to the richest, sweetest desserts. Lemon cake sounds right.
4 Stars — 2007 SLH Pinot Gris
Rod Phillips, Wine Pointer, Nov. 21/08
This delicious late harvest pinot gris is characterized by a sweetness that’s qualified by a level of pungency, a broad complexity, and a judicious contribution of acidity. It’s excellent sipped at the end of a meal, and it also goes very well with fruit-based desserts (peach would be peachy) or lighter blue cheeses.
