The 2007 Shiraz is on a mission to shake up the hierarchy of red varietals on the Niagara Peninsula. Battling the entrenched old guard and status quo, it’s stepping up in the face of Bordeaux-boredom to eradicate palate apathy and spice up the day. Sporting pumped up dark fruit character, this Shiraz is no mere brute, also possessing deft balance backed up by its secret weapon: a big black pepper punch. A champion for underdogs the world over, this wine is an invaluable ally to have on your team at any dinner table.

2007
4.0 Stars — 2007 Shiraz
Christopher Waters, watersandwine.com, Feb. 28th, 2009
This 2007 Shiraz ranks as the best value Shiraz in the country. For the first time, there’s generous
plummy fruit and an appealing floral note to counter the typical black pepper and clove character of Creekside’s entry-level Shiraz. As always, a bright acidity adds refreshment and vitality to the package. This has the stuffing to turn people’s heads away from international examples. Excellent value.
“Pure fruit flavour” — 2007 Shiraz
Tony Aspler, Winery to Home, Feb. 2009
“Lovely blackberry fruit, pure fruit flavour; well balanced with good length and fresh acidity. Soft tannins. Good value.”
“Very good value” — 2007 Shiraz
David Lawrason, Winery to Home, Feb. 2009
Gets as close to Aussie Shiraz flavours has Ontario has yet come, without the Aussie alcohol. Very good value in nicely ripe, juicy and fairly supple shiraz with cherry-plum fruit, black pepper, clove and background floral geranium character…. very good length. Best 2009 to 2012.
