Plantings of Viognier in Niagara are few and far between, making this small lot bottling a regional rarity. Tiny, but invaluable, our estate holdings play an important dual part in our Reserve program. Following a gentle press the skins, still containing valuable juice, were co-fermented with batches of the vintage’s best Shiraz for Creekside’s Broken Press Shiraz. The extracted juice was reserved for the crafting of this sibling wine, of which two-thirds was given the unique treatment of fermentation and ageing in neutral French oak barrels, highlighting and defining the heady aromatics and textural characteristics of Viognier.

    4.5 Stars — 2008 Reserve Viognier

Rick Van Sickle, St. Catharines Standard, Feb. 28th, 2010

Intense tropical fruit, sweet peach compote, apricot and floral notes on the nose. It’s rich on the palate but has excellent vibrancy and length. Very fine white from the Queenston Road Vineyard. This won at Cuvee last weekend for best Viognier and best limited edition white.
