Annual End of Harvest Cellar Party

We’re very social animals here at Creekside and we love having folks from surrounding wineries over to visit, in fact we’ve developed a bit of a reputation for our annual Harvest Party, held every year near the end of fruit receival.  It’s a chance to catch up with our equally exhausted friends from around the peninsula and to celebrate the trials, tribulations, and successes of each and every vintage.

Due to the later harvest this year, many people rolled in after their cellar shift, or were unable to make it thanks to a delinquent batch of fruit that decided it simply had to be picked on that day.  To all of those that missed the fun, don’t worry, we saluted you with a round of cheers and wished you the best.

The addition of a foosball table made quite the splash and we’ve got to tip our hats to the crew from Flat Rock Cellars, who dominated the proceedings, even clobbering the home favourite Creekside Crew into submission.  Dave from Featherstone cleaned up in the bung toss (think bocce, but with the wooden plugs that come in brand new barrels), retaining his nearly undefeated record and snapping up a sweet bottle of Aussie Cab Sauv and a big bad ’05 Bordeaux for his efforts.  I think that there may be plans to duct tape his hands behind his back on arrival next year so that others will have a chance at glory.

Here are some shots of the action:

Thanks so much to all who attended, it was great to see you and we hope you had as great a time attending as we did hosting.  Until next year!
