Welcome To The Cellared Life!
Creekside may have a new look, both online and at the retail store, but we never want to lose sight of the fact that we’re a hard-working, boutique winery that wants nothing more than to make visitors and wine lovers grin in appreciation at the first sip out of one of our bottles. Each wine has its own story of how it got from grape to bottle, and who better than the production team, who work with the wines 24/7, to give each wine the personality and attention that it deserves. We want you to know the wines like we know the wines so that you’re not just drinking some lifeless liquid, but partaking in a process that spans years of work and developing a deeper understanding of what’s in your glass.
That’s one reason for starting up The Cellared Life, Creekside’s production team blog. We want you all to have the inside scoop, to be able to follow the vinification process as it hits peaks and potholes alike. We’re darn proud of our wines and we want to be able to share their progress with people who appreciate something more than just tasting notes on a label (that’s you!). We want to dish the dirt.
The other reason is less about dirt in a gossipy sense and more about actual filth. There, I said it. The wine business is a filthy, filthy creature. It’s funny, the kind of perception people have, outside-looking-in, of the wine industry of some sort of snobbish, glamourous undertaking unparalleled in the world of poshness. The truth of the matter is that it’s gritty, dirty, frustrating, but highly rewarding work if you’ve got a passion for wine and the limitless curiousity and ingenuity required to pursue it. We wanted to present a true picture of what goes on behind all those “Staff Only” doors in wineries, so we’ve tied up our Marketing Director and locked him in a tank. At The Cellared Life you’re guaranteed a marketing free zone. No gloss, no posh, just a simple how-it-is presentation of everyday life working at Creekside Estate Winery.
We do hope you’ll join our team as a reader and supporter, and encourage you to leave comments on posts, follow us through the RSS feed (What Is RSS?), and even drop by to see us at the winery. We look forward to meeting you one way or another!
