Creekside once again showed the strength and versatility of its portfolio by medalling in white, red, and dessert wine categories at the Wine Access Canadian Wine Awards 2009. One of Canada’s leading national wine competitions, the CWAs are open to all wines that are 100% Canadian grown, fermented, and bottled.
Our two premium Shiraz bottlings from the stupendous Queenston Road Vineyard on the St. David’s Bench duked it out with one another for glory in the Syrah/Shiraz category. On this day the 2006 Reserve Shiraz just edged out the 2006 Broken Press Shiraz, with the Reserve finishing with a silver medal and the BP finishing with bronze.
A silver medal was also awarded to the 2007 Reserve Chardonnay (soon to be released) in the Chardonnay category, and the 2007 Laura White hauled in a bronze for its ecclectic tastiness in the White Blends ranks. Not to be out done, our lone Late Harvest entry, the 2007 Select Late Harvest Pinot Gris, grabbed bronze as well.
