Reviews

“Here’s a polished, modern, new word style wine with a generous dose of oak and ripe, juicy black berry and black cherry flavours. Acid is lively and brisk, tannins medium and length above average. All in all, a fine, juicy, nicely structured red that’s beginning to drink now but will also hold mid-term in the cellar.” Score: 89 points, John Szabo, WineAlign, November 2010.

“Savory and delicious with fleshy dark berries and plums. Round and full-bodied. Superb effort! Food matches: pulled-pork sandwiches, hearty soup” Score 90/100. Natalie MacLean, Nat Decants, December 2010.

“A classic Bordeaux-style mix of cab sauv, cab franc, merlot, malbec and petit verdot, bursting with aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry and cedar. The flavours are rich, with intense black cherry, vanilla pod and a lush gush finish.” Score 90+/100. Gord Stimmell, Toronto Star, December 11, 2010

“This is something of a signature red for Creekside, named for owner Laura McCain. This shows the deep colour consistent with the ripe 2007 vintage, as well as a rich, ripe nose of dark currant fruit, chocolate, wood smoke and herbs. Very Bordelais styled, … that also evokes Italy. It’s very flavourful, sinewy with excellent length. A rarity by the way as one of a very few Niagara blends with all five Bordeaux varieties – cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec. Should age well, best 2012 to 2016. Tasted often since release, most recently December 2010” Score 88, David Lawrason, Wine Align, December 2010
