100% Queenston Road Vineyard fruit. Fermented in 7 neutral French oak barrel and a stainless steel tank (40%) using a variety of different yeast strains. Aged in tank and barrel for 10 months before tasting of individual components resulted in this unique blend. Bottled August 8th , 2017 and aged in bottle for 6 months before releasing.
Viognier will always be an exotic rarity in Niagara -- it needs a very warm site in October to ripen properly. Our tiny, perfect Vio block in sunny Niagara-on- the-Lake was originally planted to service our flagship Broken Press Syrah/Viognier red wine but we noticed very early on that the varietal wine was a stunner too. Year-in year-out those vines deliver the goods, and we can make another small batch of the ‘‘delicious impossibility’’ that is Viognier.
