Sauvignon Blanc

white
$15.95

ZING! Intense, pungent lime zest and grapefruit with a whiff of tropical fruit and the somewhat odd notion that somebody somewhere nearby just cut the grass. Stops to spread out and say hello on the palate before resolving into a long citrus finish.

2017 gave us a wet summer but the warm, dry fall brought back the intensity and ripeness to the fruit. As usual, Sauvignon Blanc was one of the first grapes in and steadily continued as different vineyards ripened at different times. 100% stainless steel ferment at cool temperatures to preserve those intense aromatics and flavours. Bottled January, 2017.

Right from the start Sauvignon Blanc has been front-and-center as Creekside’s flagship white grape. We do it up unoaked, oaked, single-vineyard, pan-Peninsula blend, bubbly... just about every which way because we love it. Sauvignon Blanc carries its fresh energy and cornucopia of flavours wherever it goes, never failing to invigorate, refresh, and beguile. However, “savvie” does cost Rob years of life expectancy trying to get the pick date just right.

If you like goat cheese, then match it with this wine and listen to the angels sing. Anything that you would squeeze a lemon on will work well too: braised greens, seafood, grilled asparagus, lentil salad, whatever. Also useful by itself as an aperitif while the cook is slaving over a hot stove…
