Every vintage provides its own challenges and virtues and 2019 was no exception. With a late start to the growing season, we saw grapes ripen later than usual. Careful attention in the vineyard was vital in managing sugar levels, acidity, and most importantly flavour. The resulting wines are true to our cool climate roots with vibrant freshness and crisp acidity,
big, bold fruit and delicately balanced.
Right from the start Sauvignon Blanc has been front-and-center as Creekside’s flagship white grape. We do it up unoaked, oaked, single-vineyard, pan-Peninsula blend, bubbly... just about every which way because we love it. Sauvignon Blanc carries its fresh energy and cornucopia of flavours wherever it goes, never failing to invigorate, refresh, and beguile. However, “savvie” does cost Rob years of life expectancy trying to get the pick date just right.
Grapefruit, guava, and lime are accented by the savoury elements of peas in the pod, fennel and fresh cut grass, both on the nose and into the palate. The fresh, zesty citrus follows through to the long finish with vibrant acidity and intensity. A sessionable Sauvignon Blanc, that’s full of flavour.
