2017 vintage started out as a difficult year. It was a summer of lots of rain and less than ideal weather, but by the fall, everything turned around and the sun came out and saved the harvest.
t. Managing crop levels was important but that slow and steady ripening and a gorgeous fall lead to some wines with elegance and great ageing potential.
Fermented in separate batches in stainless steel tanks and individual fruit bins. Aged in oak for 19 months.
With all this attitude in one glass, you need a pairing with just as much Chutzpah! Grilled flank steak with an authentic chimichurri sauce is ideal. The bold protein softens the structure of the tannins, while the herbs of the chimichurri sauce bring out all those delightful savoury herbs from the mid-palate. Not a carnivore? Might we suggest forest mushroom risotto with a healthy helping of shaved parmesan Reggiano?
